LEICESTER are working hard on putting the finishing touches to their Premiership team for next season.
The Watling JCB Lions have already made their rivals sit up and take notice with a series of shock signings and good news about the return of Josh Bates who has shelved retirement plans.
Now they can press ahead with the final piece of the jigsaw and are confident of making an announcement in due course.
The club are aware of media reports suggesting they already have their rider in place but this is not quite the case.
Co-promoter Neil Machin said: “We’ve been looking various options and we were all delighted when Josh Bates told us he would be riding for us.
“We’ve had riders in mind but until we get the final pieces of a deal in place we cannot say much more.
“As soon as we are in a position to make an announcement regarding the last rider we will do so in the usual manner.”
